Meet the Carps

This is the chronicles of our journey to St. Thomas, USVI, from the great Village of Tickfaw, Louisiana, over 2 years ago and every moment henceforth.

We are the Carpenter’s, Megan and DJ. We are both 25 years old. We have a dog, House, and a cat, Ted Mosby. Megan was a high school English teacher and DJ was a full time youth pastor. We work at a resort, but our calling and ultimate purpose in the islands is Freshwater Church, a church plant in St. John, where we serve as the young adult leaders. In St. Thomas and St. John, we have found more than island paradise, we’ve found friends, family, and experiences that will stay with us forever. We love travel, movies and television, cooking and eating, and general hilarity. We share everything from our vacations and island adventures to the quirks of island life and our stateside cravings. The VI is our home now, and we feel that it will be for years to come. We believe this incredible step in our lives is God-breathed and God-designed, and we couldn’t be more excited to share our beautiful journey!
